PeaceHealth layoffs will replace some staff with those who have more specialized training

PeaceHealth is laying off some labor and delivery employees to move to a new organizational structure relying instead on people who have more specialized training. In a statement further explaining nearly 40 layoffs expected by Feb. 21, PeaceHealth said Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend in Springfield is transitioning to a model requiring a staff of certified surgical technologists in their labor and delivery department.
